1923 premiere date revealed for Taylor Sheridan’s next chapter of the Yellowstone origin story

Paramount+ has announced the premiere date for “1923,” Taylor Sheridan’s prequel series for Yellowstone. The show will delve into the early 20th century, exploring challenges like pandemics, drought, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression faced by the Dutton family. Starring Harrison Ford as Jacob Dutton and Helen Mirren as Cara Dutton, the series introduces a new generation of the Dutton family.

James Badge Dale, Darren Mann, Marley Shelton, Michelle Randolph, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, and Julia Schlaepfer also join the cast. The premiere is set for Sunday, December 18, on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada, and Monday, December 19, in the U.K. and Australia.

The prequel, produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions, is planned as a two-season event. Sheridan envisions shooting in South Africa, Tanzania, and Malta, expanding the series’ reach. The Yellowstone universe, known for its drama, continues to captivate fans with this exploration of the Dutton family’s ranch-building journey. Negotiations for a two-season run are underway, with key cast members eager to reprise their roles.
